Job Title: Design and Communication Small Biz Admin

Small communication and design company looking for part time admin assistance with some design / web / biz skills.

Right off the start, this is not a regular office job. If you want something regular and routine, or if you want to just clock hours and get paid and go home, this isn't really the best fit. Varying number of hours per week with some flexibility for your schedule. Between 10 - 15 hr/wk to start, hopefully growing fast, and potentially even full-time in the near future.

I provide website production, web and print design, research, writing, photography, reports and presentations, and general marketing and small-business start up services, and communications IT support. I do high quality work and have a primarily "high-end" clientelle. I'm also starting a couple other businesses as well. I'm busy and getting busier, and I need a bit of help getting and staying organized.

About You:
Aside from the usual list (smart, prompt, positive, etc.), I need someone with the following skills:
Document formatting and preparation
Basic book keeping
Writing, editing, proof reading
A good understanding of at least some of the following: graphic design, web programming, communications technology, marketing, business skills, photography, corporate reporting, general small business experience

Some other things:
You appreciate details and you're all about good grammar.
You have some scheduling flexibility.
You are interested in communication and design.
You're into helping sustainable businesses do better. (Positive solutions!)
You're open to the idea of helping to build something and playing a role in the growth of a business.
You can take initiative and responsibility and help move things forward.
You will probably attend some client meetings and once in a while those might be a bit formal.
You live not to far away. Downtown or West Side ideally.
You are quite competent with computers. You have your own laptop (Win or Mac ok) and know your way around it quite well.
Your own life is organized and you know how to use tools to help (calendar, task lists, google docs, etc.)

You will be helping me launch the business from a busy independent freelancer into a real company with all the regular stuff like a marketing campaign, solid workflows, good financial tracking, and hopefully soon, an office. Much of the ground work is in place.

Even better if you have:
University degree in related field (or student with extra time.)
Layout and graphic design skills.
Direct experience / network in green building or sustainable energy/clean tech industries
Small business start-up experience
International experience or connections / second language

Pay is DOE.
$20/hr if you've got some of these skills and are committed to learning more.
$25+/hr if you've got lots of these skill plus relevant experience and initiative.
